Gridfold

Privacy policy

What Gridfold and this website do with your data, in plain words.

Last updated 17 October 2026

In short

  • Gridfold has no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address or contacts, and there are no in-app purchases.
  • Your progress, scores and settings are stored on your device only.
  • The game shows an ad only when you choose to continue a run. Those ads come from Google AdMob, which processes some device data to show and measure them.
  • Where the law requires consent (for example in the EU, the UK and Switzerland), the game asks first, and you can change your choice later under Pause → Privacy choices.
  • In those regions the game also sends no usage analytics. Elsewhere it sends pseudonymous usage statistics (no name, no email, no advertising identifier) to Google Analytics for Firebase.
  • This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking.

Who we are

Gridfold is published by Koker ICT, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 89541863, at Barbizonlaan 104, 2908 ME Capelle aan den IJssel, the Netherlands. We are the controller for the personal data described here, unless we say that Google acts on its own behalf.

This website

The website has no forms, accounts or sign-up and sets no cookies. It does not use analytics or advertising tools, and the puzzle on the home page keeps your score in the page only: nothing is saved when you leave.

Like any web server, ours records technical request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) in server logs, to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for 7 days and are not used for anything else. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Game data on your device

The game saves your best score, statistics, settings and the run in progress on your device, so you can continue where you left off. It also creates a random install number on your device, used only to keep any in-game test of a game setting consistent for you. None of this is sent to us, and it is deleted when you uninstall the game.

Ads (Google AdMob)

When you run out of space, the game offers to continue once if you watch a rewarded ad. Watching is optional. The ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland; Google LLC elsewhere).

What Google processes

To show, measure and protect ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK processes data such as your IP address (and the approximate location derived from it), device and app information, ad interactions, diagnostics and, where available, a device advertising identifier. On iOS, Gridfold does not ask for permission to track you, so your device's advertising identifier is not available to the game or its ads.

Consent

Where consent is required, Google's consent tool asks before ads use your data, and you can choose not to consent; you may still see ads that use less data. You can change your choice any time under Pause → Privacy choices. Legal basis: your consent where it is required (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), and otherwise our legitimate interest in funding a free game with optional ads (Article 6(1)(f)).

Google's own policies apply to its processing: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Analytics and settings (Firebase)

The game uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how it is played (for example: a run started, a line was cleared, a revive was offered), to find problems and to improve the game. It uses Firebase Remote Config to receive settings, such as how revive offers behave, without an app update.

  • Not in regulated regions. Where consent is required (for example the EU, the UK and Switzerland) or where it can't be determined, the game sends no analytics and does not fetch remote settings.
  • What is sent elsewhere: game events, the app version, device model and operating system, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and identifiers created by Firebase for this app installation. The game does not set a user ID and does not send your name, email or advertising identifier.
  • Kept for 14 months.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the game (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), only where consent is not required.

Your rights and choices

You may ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time (Pause → Privacy choices). Because Gridfold has no accounts, we usually cannot link data to you; you can delete everything stored on your device by uninstalling the game, and reset your device's advertising identifier in your device settings.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Children, transfers and changes

Gridfold is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area; Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for such transfers. We will update this policy when the game or its services change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
